I wanted a brand new office for my new at home Internet business. I was trying my hand at online retail which was a change of pace for me. I figured that my computers and networking system had to be top notch and that I had to have a neat and organized system for all the coax cables and wires that would be connecting everything together. With little overhead otherwise, I wanted to spend some money making my office very efficient and fast. I hired a local computer guy that was good at this type of stuff. He suggested I used several cat 6 patch panels for ease of switching and re-channeling circuits, plus I guess the cat 6 patch panels also give a nice clean look for all the splices in the coax cables and network wires. I told him to do whatever it took to make the office like I wanted it so he did. I think I ended up buying over a thousand feet of coax cables and some three or four cat 6 patch panels plus other various cables, switches, and connectors. I was very clean and organized looking when he was done and that is what I wanted. It was also very fast and efficient so I can’t complain too much about it. I didn’t know cat 6 patch panels could make such a difference compared to how I used to have things set up.
