My mother used to always come up with fun party ideas to make my slumber parties so fun and unique. She even bought us glow glasses one year to wear while we watched television in the dark. My friends always said that my mom had the best ideas.

She let us sleep outside in tents one time. I remember being so scared when it started to rain and there was thunder and lightning. She sent my dad out, to see if any of us wanted to come in and we all ran to the house. We were all dripping wet by the time we made it to the back door. My dad ended up moving our tent into the garage and we slept in there.

Another one of her great party ideas was the time she let us bake little wedding cakes and decorate them like we were real bakers. My cake was probably by far, the ugliest cake you had ever seen but it was so much fun. I still have many of those photos.

I would have to say that the party with the glow glasses will be one that is always remembered by me as one of my favorites. Especially since while we were watching the movie, my dad had snuck outside and jumped up in the window behind the television to scare us while wearing his glow glasses.

I am hoping that I can come up with fun and unique party ideas when I have kids of my own. I will borrow some from my mother, but also hope to make new ones along the way.
