I was looking forward to helping out my buddy with some issues with his website that he had been having but after sitting down with him, I realized that he may need to hire someone to do some link building for him instead of having me rework the site.

He explained that for even local keywords, he is not showing up on the search engines and that is going to be the number one things that he needs to fix before we do anything else. I gave him the name of several companies that can work on one way links for him and get him ranking quickly. He asked me if he should be using more than one of the companies and I told him that the search engines do not like that and it would probably make him start to rank even worse.

He called me about six months later and told me that the link building campaign was going great and sales were starting to increase. I was glad to hear it especially since the holidays were right around the corner and hopefully sales would increase even more then. I told him to continue with having the same company do his one way links for at least six months more and then he could back down just a bit if he was happy about where he was ranking.
