Our purell dispenser has been getting quite a workout lately. I found that all the dispensers in the restrooms were practically empty at the end of every day and that we had been ordering triple the amounts from our plumbing fixtures supplier than what we used to.

I know that with flu season upon us and the threat of the swine flu, people are finally becoming more aware of germs. I think that prior to all of this; we might have refilled our purell dispensers maybe once a week. If you think about all the germs that were still there before, and realize that people did not care, it is truly disgusting.

When I called and talked to the saleswoman at the plumbing fixtures company, she let me know that they had so many orders for purell that they were really having a difficult time staying stocked with it. They are hoping that after winter, the panic slows down a bit and they will be able to restock their usually supply that they have on hand. I told her that as long as the media is discussing the swine flu, I could see no end in sight of people being cautious.
