When I read an ad in the newspaper about a woman selling old silver coins, I had to call her. She explained that they used to belong to her husband and when he passed away, she just put them in the attic and recently rediscovered them when she was getting ready to move. She did not want too much money for them but she thought that by selling coins that she might be able to find someone who would enjoy them as much as her late husband did.

I have been an avid coin collector for years and would never think of selling old silver coins, if they were actually rare. Now two months ago, I did consider selling coins that I had bought many years ago, but have never gone up in value. I changed my mind, when I walked into the shop where I would have sold them and they offered me such a low ball price, that I had to just leave.

I offered the woman two hundred dollars without even seeing what coins were in the box and she took it. I had told her all about my collecting hobby and she said that she felt I was the right person to have her husband’s old collection.
