I think that I would rather buy some used poweredge servers and call the dell repair company a couple of times a year to fix them than to spend all that money on new ones. My boss at my last job had to have everything new and it seemed that his new stuff would break down just as much as something that was bought used.

The office across from ours had purchased some used poweredge servers from an online company and they worked great. I know that the people who worked at the other place laughed every time that the repair man showed up. The advantage is that with such items you can get near brand new materials with a few scratches or dings that could be easily removed. On the other hand if there are any imperfections upfront then you can immediately inform the company.

How the prices are set in the used market? The used Cisco market is an open market where equipments are trades as only the second hand commodity. Prices of such commodities rise and fall according to the demand and supply in the market. When you wish to compare the prices, the best way is to compare with reference to other resellers. Otherwise if you go for comparison with some preconceived list it may become arbitrary.

It is also to be seen how the prices of the materials fluctuate or take turns when the dealer affect Cisco repair for the used Cisco products you have bought.

When we found some used ibm computers at a garage sale, and the owners showed us that they actually worked, we bought them. It was like his and hers computers. They were the same make and model and worked exceptionally well for as old as they were. When our friends saw the “his and hers” used ibm computers, they thought that they were so cute.

I am hoping to get some new pseries servers installed into my office building. I am not sure what kind is in there now, but we have issues with them being down all the time. The last building that I worked in had the pseries servers and we never had any problems with them.

I suggested it to the guys down in tech and they said that they were not authorized to just completely change the whole set up. I let them know that I would talk to whoever was in charge to make decisions and see what I could do.

I went to my boss first who had an old used ibm computer sitting on his desk. I figured that he was not going to be one for change, if he had not purchased a new computer in ages. I still sat down and told him the story about how if we switched to the pseries servers, we would not have as many problems as we had been having recently.

He sent me upstairs to talk to his boss who did not have a used ibm computer on his desk. I was very thankful for that. He agreed to make the necessary changes to the servers to insure we would not be down as much as we had been. I thanked him and went back to my desk.
