IBM Power6 Series - The Best Server for Small and Medium Scale Business
Filed Under (Computers) by Willie

There are many servers around that promises excellent business value for small and mid-sized businesses but the one that stood out to me are the IBM Power6 Servers. After using it for over a month I found that it is easy to manage and flexible. Another thing that I really like about this is that its processors do not overheat because of the 65-nanometer process geometry, high-bandwidth buses that run 75GB per second. It also has a voltage threshold that is as low as 0.8 volts.

The one that I am using is the IBM Power 520 Express. It is just perfect for the small business that I run. It serves as my application server, database server and small-scale consolidation server. It is the complete business system. Since using this, I saw a small decline in my electric bill because of its Energy Scale technology.

The other platform that I have tried and liked is the AS/400 Servers also from IBM. It worked great when I tried running my business computing systems on it. It also offers strong support for java applications.

A Friends Recommendation in Buying Online Hardwares
Filed Under (Computers) by Willie

I was browsing the internet in search of a store in our area that sells used Cisco hardwares. I don’t have enough money to buy a new one and I thought it best to settle for a refurbished model that is still in good working condition. After an hour of searching, I found out that there is no store in our area that sells the item that I am looking for. I called my friends on the phone and asked for their recommendations and one of them, gave me the website address of an online site that handles online transactions.

I took my time browsing the site and saw that they have Cisco 10000 Series routers in their inventory. It was a good model and I know that it is just the thing that I am looking for. The price is just right and I didn’t think twice and ordered it right away. After the router was delivered, I used it right away to see if I did the right choice. It was relief when it worked just the way it’s supposed to be. I was lucky to have found that website and that is all thanks to the help from my friends.

Some of the entrepreneurs chew over the usage of IBM Tape Drivesfor data storage as a thing of the past and other files that needs to be kept and stored. These people are engaged in major businesses. By doing so, they can easily retrieve the previous documents if needed and easily store more data or files.

In fact, most prudent entrepreneur purchased also the IBM Tape Librariesto keep more files that are necessary for their business as well.

On the other hand, those people that are not in any major business field only rely on the memory of their small computer. Moreover, those entrepreneurs only use those not reliable tape drives or libraries on their business data, are not guaranteed to recover important files during or in undesirable events.

How Used Servers Can Help You Keep and Make More Clients
Filed Under (Computers) by Willie

Doing business is all about making profits while making your clients happy. And what can make your costumers happy? Of course, a top notch product and great service goes a long way. But you know there’s another thing that most consumers look for - a reasonable price tag. Yes, there’s a market for high end products but even the rich knows when they’re paying too much for something.

The biggest factor that affects how a businessman sets a price to his goods is the amount of investment he has put in them. If you’re a company who runs a computer network using industrial grade server, it’s natural to spend a lot of money on one. This expenditure goes into the pricing of products which your clients are going to pay for. Now, if you buy used IBM pSeries servers you could save a lot without sacrificing performance which can also affect your pricing scheme.

You can make your clients happy by using used IBM pSeries and charge less for your services. This way you keep the quality of work you do plus you’re bound to get more referrals because you’re affordable compared to others.

Refurb HP storage saves lot money

I am a Computer and Information System Manager for almost a decade. I’ve always been a buyer of new gadgets and stuff. I never consider a second life item for it is a waste of money for me because you’ll wind up paying more in the long run to fix it. I really wanted to buy the HP Storage coz it perfectly works for me and that’s what we use in the office. I have a tight budget and I can’t afford to buy a new one.

My best friend Chalen already has a refurbished HP BladeSystem and she got those for 50% off. We are totally opposite because she prefers to buy refurbished item. I never agreed when she suggested that I should buy a refurb one. She let me borrow her HP BladeSystem and I tried it at home. It was physically good and doing well as if they were new.

I bought one in the net and I was surprised it comes with a warranty. So now I finally got it and I’m thankful to have bought a refurbished, not only saves you a ton of money but it also works the same as the new.

An Affordable Computer Service Raleigh NC for an Upgrade
Filed Under (Computers) by Willie

The computers in the office clearly needed to be upgraded.  Everyone was already complaining about the slow processing that was hindering them from doing their work efficiently.  Since the office made some good deals this year, the management decided to give in and asked me to find an affordable computer service Raleigh NC that could help us with our needs.

Everybody got excited upon learning it and some of the guys even gave me contact numbers of the home computer servers Raleigh firms that helped them set up their home networks.  Imagine, their homes were far more advanced than the office.  However this was going to change once the upgrade is done.

Of course, cost is a big concern so searching for one that could give the best price will be more favored over the others.  But I know that more than the cost, the firm should have a reliable after sales service that we could count on should any of the computers or servers bog down.  It was really easy to make the recommendation because I was able to find a company that met all the criteria that I set when I started canvassing.

Start it Right

My college friends and I love music.  Each of us has our own gadget that keeps us stay on track and updated with the latest and newest music.  When we graduated from college we come up with an idea of not to work yet but to start a small business related to our interest - MUSIC.

Our business is one of a kind.  We establish a music shop where people can have the latest and newest songs even before they are out in the market and in a very affordable price - through the web.  Since we are accessing the web we decided to use one of the best when it comes to hosting server - IBM xSeries Servers.

We set up an appointment with their Sales Personnel and were provided with an IBM xSeries Server that suit our need.  A tower server that was a great space saver and could be upgraded to host more if the need arose.

Used xSeries servers were also given to us an option.  However, we prefer to have a new server though we knew that the used and refurbished servers that they sold were one of the best too.

Our business is going smoothly up until now.  In fact, we are planning to branch out in another state next month.
